Radiant Metro

This was a shot I took last month and I saw an absolute stunning view of the suns rays striking on the metro station near Dubai Internet City. I blurred out the Sheikh Zayed road a bit to put more focus on the metro station and on the suns rays in this case. You can tell that it was a bit misty that day as you can clearly see the shadows of the buildings in the background being formed. The more I look at this image, the more it looks like a miniature model of this amazing city.

Great shot, did you use a tilt shift lens to get the miniature effect

Baber - December 31, 2010 - 01:06

Hey thanks Chad!
No, it was all done on Photoshop.

very futuristic… did you consider desaturating the green highway sign? It’s just a bit distracting. I really, really like this photo though. I think you have a great skill in doing the miniature look with your photos! I saw this at hdrspotting.com, btw.

Nice shot my friend. May I make a suggestion? Your usage tab has me listed as the person to seek permission for to use your images.

Happy New Year bro!

Hey Thanks Kelley! :)
I did have second thoughts on the green highway sign but decided to leave it as is because it adds to the blur.

Baber - December 31, 2010 - 12:27

hahahaha! This would mean I should give you copies of my original too! :D
Thanks for letting me know bro, will make that change. :)
Wishing you a very Happy New Year to you too bro and see you next year too Inshallah! ;)

Brilliant. I love the tilt / shift effects you can achieve in Photoshop. Great to see this shot over at Chromasia.

This is a great shot and postproduction work.

May I ask you ecalty from whicht location you took the picture.

I’m in Dubai and even if I know that I can’t reach your quality and talent I would like give it a try just for curiosity.

I will be very happy If you can also suggest more place to visit and take pictures. I’m fairly new to Dubai since I just arrived few weeks ago, I would like to go around and have the opportunity to take some shots.

Best Regards

Ugo.

Baber - April 13, 2012 - 14:04

Why thanks Ugo! This was taken from the Arenco Building located in Dubai Media City which is touching the Dubai Internet City. Other places that are worth capturing are Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and Dubai Marina if you like Architecture.

Ugo - April 14, 2012 - 01:18

Many thanks !!!

I know that building it’s closer to the place where I’m working.

Excuse my silly question but to get in, it’s necessary an authorization or permit, isn’t a private building?

Yes I like landscape & architecture.

Thank you again.

Baber - April 17, 2012 - 02:15

No, You don’t any permit. Just don’t look at the security gaurd and walk in straight into the elevator and go up to the main lobby. :)
