Let us see how many can guess where did I take this shot in Dubai? (Hint: Its a hotel located near Souk Al Bahar)
Yup! Its the entrance of the Palace Hotel.
I saw this amazing perspective when taking the shot of the main gate of the Palace hotel by standing underneath one of their street lights which lead into the parking lot of Souk Al Bahar. I had to really make sure I did not come in the way of any on coming car since I had placed my tripod on the road leading towards the parking lot main entrance. Having cars exiting the parking lot left streaks of red behind which complemented the image and this was not under my original plan when taking this shot but it turned out quite well after having post-processed it.![]()
I blurred out the left side of the frame to not only draw the audiences attention towards the main entrance of the Palace Hotel but to also perceive depth in the image.

I like the image overall, but I have to say, the blur is a bit distracting to me? I think the problem is, blur is usually meant to kind of enhance the idea of a wide open aperture…but this is just blur for the sake of blur maybe?
Otherwise, I love the composition and processing, nice job!
Hey thanks bro for your feedback!
I intentionally added blur to show depth in the image even though it looks unreal but I guess I should’ve toned it down a bit to make it less distracting.
I love how you obscured the view in this image to create such a unique vertical line of focus! It really amplifies the rich details in the subject line. Absolutely love the racing tail lights on the other side of the street! You continue to to capture the night time shots with a precision to be envied by most!
Hey thanks Bella! =)
