Here is a shot I took last week when it was fortunately overcast in LA. It hardly rains in LA but when it does, the results after the rain has stopped pouring are phenomenal. The dust settles down and the surroundings look dramatic naturally with dark clouds over head with the sun piercing through just before sunset. I ran out with my gear right after it had stopped pouring heavily. I was also lucky enough to see a double rainbow which lasted for 10 minutes that day.
The shot below is of the LA river and its the first spot that came into my mind right after the storm settled. I knew it would be an ideal location for shooting just before sunset with dark clouds hovering over. Turned out quite well after working on it intensively.
